Patty Garcia began her professional life in 1988, when CPS Energy was still known as City Public Service, as a lineworker. She assisted in the manual installation of the underground steel gas pipes and conduits that deliver natural gas and electricity to homes.
“I’ve forever been a regular laborer,” said Garcia, who moved on from Lanier Secondary School. ” I generally needed to work for CPS Energy, even in those days.”
