The not-for-profit needs 30 complete center and secondary school understudies to join the program for the 2023-24 school year.
Camp for the partner begins Sept. 16 at Port San Antonio and happens on Saturdays all through the school year from 8:30 a.m. to around 12:30 p.m., contingent upon field trips. The majority of students stick with it, according to LCATS organizers, despite the three-year commitment.
The program goes through the school year just and stops for the late spring. According to Louise Cantwell, executive director of the WEX Foundation, the space STEM program provides students who would not otherwise have access to such programs due to discrimination based on race or gender.
Kathryn Bolish, logistics manager for the WEX Foundation, stated that LCATS is typically a student’s initial introduction to space STEM or space science.
