“Minutes before the task proposition was expected, I took a gander at the image that I have with my uncle sitting right in front of me and I was like, ‘You know, I want to accomplish something in his recognition,'” Mustafa said. ” I thought, ‘How might I work on the personal satisfaction for individuals who are truly handicapped?'”
Mustafa called her classmate and friend Josie Torres right away to talk about that idea. Their subsequent thought would prompt the development of the OMAR model — or the Upgraded Dinner Help Robot.
The OMAR was one of 90 understudy fabricated projects in plain view last week at UTSA’s Fall 2023 Tech Conference — UTSA’s once-a-semester grandstand of models and exploration by designing understudies that permits them to seek project financing. A panel of local engineers ranks the projects after the students present theirs.
